Diamond Jubilee Dorset Coast Extravaganza
Update 12 April: no more bookings being taken. A special 4 night trip arriving Friday 1st June and departing Tuesday 5th June. Staying at Lulworth Cove with fantastic coastal walking, picnic lunches, and evening meals at local pubs. 7 people are booked into the YHA hostel for 4 nights at £71.60 (excl meals) and have paid in full. The hostel offers breakfasts and packed lunches at extra cost, or self-cater if preferred. Another 18 people are staying in b&bs. If travelling by train, Wool is the nearest station to Lulworth Cove and is on the Waterloo-Bournemouth line.

Meet 8.00pm in Winterdown Road, West End, Esher by the pond (TQ 128639) for a walk on West End Common. Drinks afterwards at The Prince of Wales (postcode KT10 8LA).

Meet 10:00 at car park in Styants Wood off the A25 east of Sevenoaks (TQ 578 558) for a walk passing Knole House and Ightham Mote. Lunch at the White Rock Inn, Underriver (TQ 556 522). To reach the car park east of Sevenoaks, follow the A25 for about 1.5 miles beyond Seal and look out for a brown heritage sign marked "Oldbury Hill". Follow this sign into a turning on the left, at the bottom of the hill, called Styants Bottom Road. You will reach the car park in about 200 yards on the left. A couple of points about the car park: (1) There is a height restriction, so cars will get in but not vans. (2) There have been car break-ins there. Please don't leave valuables in your car!

Meet to start walking promptly at 8:00pm from the shops opposite & slightly south of The Sir Douglas Haig PH, The Street, Effingham (TQ 117536). There is the option of dinner at approximately 6:45 pm at the pub beforehand. Please only park in the pub car park if you intend to visit the pub. Otherwise park in the bays in front of the shops. We will walk across The Downs, with views over to London before returning for a drink at the pub afterwards.

Meet 7.30pm at the Milbrook Car Park off the A281 South of Guildford Centre (SU 996491). There is an evening charge of £1.00 for using this car park. The walk passes Guildford Castle before heading east towards the church on St Martha's Hill. The route will include Chantries and a section of the North Downs Way. Drinks afterwards in The Boatman. The pub is on the A281, a few minutes walk south of the start point. *** Please note early start time ***

The morning walk is across the bottom of the Gatwick airport runway, thru countryside & to the historic house where Quaker Elizabeth Fry made speeches. Lunch approx. 1245 - 1400. Carvery roasts £7.45 / extra large with ice cream desert £9.95, soups & starters £3.40, pub menu £7-13. Anchor at Pyrford Lock and The Wey 4.5 miles/7.24km

Meet 8.00pm at The Anchor which is at the Junction of Wisley Lane with Lock Lane (SU 053593). There is a free car park across the road from the pub. The walk takes us along The Wey to Ockham Mill, through the gardens at Wisley, over Wisley Common and Hut Hill. We return via Wisley village and the golf course. Note: If approaching on the A3 from the east, take the Ripley roundabout and return to Wisley road on the other carriageway.
